- Client: California Association of State and Federal Education Programs (CAASFEP)
- Website: https://caasfep.org/
- Service: Accessibility Remediation
- Focus: Web Accessibility, WCAG, WordPress
The Challenge
CAASFEP needed to improve the accessibility of its website and address accessibility issues affecting the usability of its digital content.
OWLSystems was engaged to review and remediate accessibility issues within the existing website while maintaining the site’s established content, functionality and visual identity.
OWLSystems’ Approach
The work was approached as an engineering and quality-assurance exercise rather than simply making visual adjustments.
Accessibility issues were reviewed, prioritized and addressed within the existing WordPress implementation, followed by validation of the affected areas.
Accessibility Remediation
OWLSystems worked through identified accessibility issues and implemented changes intended to improve the experience for users with disabilities.
Testing and Validation
Following remediation, the affected areas were reviewed again to verify that identified issues had been addressed and to detect any remaining accessibility problems.
The Outcome
The engagement improved the accessibility of CAASFEP’s website and provided the organization with a stronger foundation for maintaining an inclusive digital experience as the website evolves.
